Hope

An intriguing question recently popped up in the comments on my Facebook page: “Did you ever think when OneHope first began that the ministry would extend worldwide?”

To answer requires a quick reflection on how the ministry started in the first place. I vividly remember the day over 30 years ago when my dad shared with me the catalyst event that led to the founding of OneHope. In a vision, he saw the world’s children being attacked by various weapons of the enemy, and that taking God’s Word to these children through leaders would be what made the difference.

We were inspired to get started right away, knowing that children were waiting to experience the life-changing message of the Gospel. No detailed strategic roadmap was given with the vision, so we took our next step in faith.

An invitation to share God’s Word with schoolchildren in El Salvador started it all. We didn’t know all that was in store for the ministry at that point, but moved forward one step at a time, filled with hope and trusting in God. Since that day, we have worked with partners in well over 100 nations. It was, and continues to be, an exercise in walking in faith as God opens and closes doors for ministry one at a time.

We had hope that sharing the Gospel around the world would come to pass because we knew that God asked us to partner with the global Church and give His Word to every child. Today, we still have hope for a broken world that can find truth in the Gospel and know their Savior as a friend.

  2. Thanks for the information Sir. For sure, our hope for whatever scope in ministry should be derived from what the Lord has already shown and convinced us about.
Our God is faithful and will do what He says He would do.
Whatever we believe the Lord has shown or is showing us must be consistent with the Word. God bless you richly, Sir.
