OneHope turns 30!

This year OneHope begins its 30th year in ministry! Over the years our mediums and methods of ministry have changed, but our mission hasn’t.

Dad’s original vision is still—and always has been—the guiding force of our mission.

OneHope was birthed out of a vision God gave Dad; of Satan attacking the children of the world and how desperately they needed to be rescued. The rescue mechanism–as shown to Dad in his vision–would come in the form of giving God’s Word to every child…and it would be done through leaders. Instead of shying away from the giant task ahead, my dad said, “yes”.

Rooted in Dad and Mom’s values, OneHope’s DNA has spread far and wide sustaining us through every open door, opportunity and challenge.

We still pray the same prayers that were foundational to the ministry 30 years ago:

• “God, give us pure hearts and clean hands.” First, we pray for God to keep our hearts and motives pure, because if we lose that, we lose everything; we lose God’s Spirit. And at OneHope, if you know nothing else about who we are or what we do, you ought to know that first and foremost we are Spirit Led.
• “Lord of the Harvest, send forth laborers.” Next we pray for the laborers (Matthew 9:38). This is God’s work and He’s going to do it. We need only pray for the people we need to become part of the OneHope vision of catalyzing a movement to reach every child and youth in the world with His Word.
• “Direct us by your holy spirit.” In everything that we do, we seek to be Spirit Led…we want to be a part of God’s mission. When we ask the Father to use us, we are asking Him to help us to reach the children and youth of the world and impart to us the ability to spread His Word. The Holy Spirit will show us where and how to do that, so we have to be in tune.

Each and every person along the OneHope journey has been an answer to those prayers. And God is still answering our prayers and refreshing our vision for the days ahead.

In the midst of victories and milestones—such as more than a billion children reached with the truth of God’s Word—we strive to maintain the same humility and purity that have always been the cornerstones of our ministry. And we continue to pray for more partners to catch the vision and join us in the work to give God’s Word to every child.
