2020 has been one of the most challenging years in recent history. Many people started out the year filled with optimism, but circumstances quickly spiraled into a season riddled with uncertainty and obstacles—some we’re still facing. Acknowledging the difficulties of 2020, my wife Kim and I began noticing the gifts God has given us this year. Perhaps you resonate with these too.
We were given the gift of perspective. When our normal schedules came to an abrupt halt, and we pivoted in response, we realized what was truly important to us. Simple acts we may have taken for granted before, like a meal with family, sparked new joy.
Kim and I received the gift of a deeper relationship with each other. With our kids grown and starting families of their own, we’re discovering what it means to mentor others and do ministry together in this season. The intentional time we spent together allowed us to actualize a shift into this new season of building up leaders.
The Lord has been faithful to see us through 2020.
